what is parrotverse?

A modern-day Star Wars AU, mostly centered on Rogue One and The Clone Wars, with assorted OCs and periodic appearances from Mandoverse and the Skywalkers. So called because in it K-2SO is a rescued African Grey parrot.

why a parrot?

Because parrots are:

intelligent
not human or humanlike
not uncommon companion animals
kind of terrible

By extension, most other droids are also birds. Just go with it.
